About Us
Our Story
Have you ever struggled to focus during a training, then wondered - how can this format possibly help me become a better clinician? Yeah, us too.
We are two psychologists who share three things in common - we are published research geeks in the science of good therapy, we put our entire hearts into good client care, and we believe it is our calling to help every therapist elevate their practice with the tools of evidence-based intervention.
We also know that these tools can be so hard to access. They may be hard to find, or require extensive travel. And perhaps worst of all, trainings can often be formatted in ways that make it hard to learn. We know from the research that lecture-based learning doesn't translate well into actionable skills. So why do we still train therapists using lecture?
We created MBBI to foster learning environments that help therapists translate new knowledge into new clinical skills. In our trainings, therapists learn by observing clinical work, problem-solving, role-play, real-time feedback, and other forms of experiential learning. Not only does this format maximize learning, it's also a lot more fun.
Meet the Founders

Jessica Goodnight, PhD
I am a licensed psychologist and co-founder of MBBI, and I specialize in evidence-based treatment for PTSD, OCD, and anxiety, with a particular love for complex clinical work. My journey has taken me from overachieving researcher to solo practitioner to group practice owner. I am wildly passionate about bringing together the science of effective therapy and the heart of good clinical care. I love offering training, consultation, and supervision to other therapists who share my passion for clinical excellence.
