Frequently Asked Questions
What is experiential about training at MBBI?
Our workshops and training experiences are designed to minimize time spent in lecture. The rest of the time is spent actually using the knowledge - through role-play, clinical observation, skills practice, team problem-solving, and - with your consent - "real"-play experiences. Observe clinical skills in action and try them out on yourselves and other workshop attendees with the support and feedback of expert presenters.
How will my clinical practice benefit from this style of training?
After completing graduate school, it can be challenging to 1) stay up-to-date on the most effective, scientifically supported clinical interventions and 2) find opportunities to practice new clinical skills or to improve existing ones before trying them out on clients. Our trainings are made for therapists who strive for excellence in clinical care - who want to bring effective, cutting-edge interventions to their clinical practice, but want to do so with a solid skill foundation.
How do I access live, virtual workshops?
Once you are registered for the workshop, you will be added to our list of confirmed attendees. All attendees will be sent a link and passcode to our private Zoom meeting space in two reminder emails sent one week and one day prior to the workshop. This link and passcode will allow you to log in on the scheduled date of the presentation. Please try to be on time so you don't miss any content!
If you have difficulties in any process of accessing Zoom or getting into the workshop, please email info@mindbodybehavioral.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
What's the best way for me to deepen my skills after I complete a workshop?
A new set of clinical knowledge and skills can be so exciting, but also so daunting! Without a like-minded community, it can be hard to have confidence in your delivery, apply new skills to nuanced presenting concerns, or troubleshoot when something isn't working in your treatment plan. To deepen your skills post-workshop, we highly recommend ongoing clinical consultation. We recommend that you find and join a local specialty peer consultation group, sign up for our expert-led exposure consultation group, or schedule one-on-one consultation with a member of our team.
What is your cancellation policy?
Any workshop registration that is cancelled at least five (5) days prior to the date of the workshop will be refunded. Please note that any payments made on our website incur a non-recoupable processing fee with our payment portal, so a three percent fee will be deducted from the full amount.
At times, a speaker may have to cancel unexpectedly. If they are able to reschedule, all tickets will be transferred automatically to a new date, and participants will be updated of the change by email. If you are unable to attend the new date, you must notify us at least five (5) days prior to the workshop in order to receive a refund; all other cancellation policies apply. In the case that the speaker cannot reschedule, full refunds will be issued to all participants.
How do I earn CE credits from your workshops?
The Mind Body Behavioral Institute (MBBI) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists and by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to sponsor continuing education for professional counselors. MBBI maintains responsibility for all programs and their content. At times, we partner with other sponsored organizations which offer credit for other professional disciplines; this will be clearly noted on the specific workshop.
Professionals from other disciplines may be able to receive CE credit by petitioning their board and providing copies of attendance documentation and workshop materials. We are happy to offer these at your request. If for any reason you are unsure whether or not a workshop will meet your licensing or continuing education requirements, please contact your state's licensing board or other regulatory authority for verification.
All participants who complete a workshop will receive a CE certificate by email at the end of the workshop. Full attendance is required in order to receive CE credit. Credits for partial attendance are not awarded. We will provide documentation of your hours of attendance for your records at your request.
How can I request disability accommodations?
We are committed to make every attempt to offer accommodations that make our workshops more accessible to all. Please let us know in advance if you require such accommodations. You can do this by checking the "I require accommodations" box during the registration process, or by sending us an email at info@mindbodybehavioral.com.
What is the attendance policy?
To receive CE credit, participants must:
-
Attend the entire scheduled event (all sessions for multi-part events).
-
Keep your camera on for the duration of virtual workshops.
-
Sign in and out as directed (or verify attendance through a learning platform or login data for virtual events).
-
Complete a post-event evaluation form.
-
Partial credit is not available unless explicitly stated for a specific course.
What should I do if I have an issue or complaint?
Any complaints or issues related to MBBI administrative processes, training content, or any presenter, speaker, or affiliate should be directed via email to info@mindbodybehavioral.com. If you contact us, please note in the subject line that you are submitting a complaint or grievance. Please additionally provide the following in the content of the email: your name, email address, phone number, and the date, reason for your complaint, and any specific actions you would like MBBI to take to address your concern. When MBBI takes action on your concerns, we will keep your identity anonymous unless you explicitly ask otherwise. We will make every effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
